Intumescent Pillow or Fire-stop Pillow is loose-like fire resistant material which is made from a hard-wearing glass cloth, filled with a fireproof sponge and intumescent. It is ideal for sealing cable trays and ducts that penetrate fire rated structures for creating either temporary or permanent fire barriers. In a fire condition, the intumescent filler will first expand and then harden to provide a complete and durable seal against the passage of fire, smoke and hot gases.
This easy to install, reusable and removable product can be used of bricks, slag wool and ceramic fibers and fire resistive walls or ceilings in cable shafts and cable tunnels. It can be also used in conjunction with Intumescent putty for sealing large openings.
Intumescent pillow has been independently tested in accordance with GA161-1997 Performance Requirements and Test methods for Fire Stops and can provide up to 3 hours fire resistance.

1. For fire resistive walls: Install intumescent pillow into a wall where it is necessary in accordance with the required spacing between cable tunnels and cable troughs. The gaps through which cables penetrate can be filled up with Intumescent Putty.
2. For fire resistive ceilings: install intumescent Pillow on fire resistant lath or fire board to form a fire resistive floors where it is necessary in accordance with the required spacing between cable shafts. The gaps through which cables penetrate can be filled up with intumescent putty.
3. For large openings: install intumescet pillow into bigger openings. The small gaps through which cables penetrate can be filled up with Intumescent Putty.
It can be stored in a cool dry place for one year. Transport it as an ordinary safe solid material.
